Everyone’s favourite punny semi-official Star Wars festival is nearly upon us, and the folks at the Disney Parks have lined up special experiences to celebrate (and promote) one of their major franchises.
On the 4 May - aka May the Fourth (be with you) - Star Wars fans at Disney parks around the globe can enjoy unique experiences, special food items, buy exclusive merch or take in new entertainment.
Guests can actually enjoy many of these experiences over a series of days, from 29 April to 11 May (albeit actual dates vary by experience and destination).
Here, we take a look at what’s on offer.
1 - Unique entertainment experiences
Whichever Disney park you’re visiting, there are some new and updated scenes in the classic Star Tours ride.
At Tokyo Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris, the attractions now feature scenes and characters from “Ahsoka,” “Andor” and “The Mandalorian.”
Meanwhile, guests visiting Disneyland Resort, in California, can enjoy “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga”. This is a nightly projection show in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge taking place for just a few nights through May 11.
The show features moments from the Skywalker saga, displayed across the spires of Batuu in the Galaxy’s Edge area of the theme park.
On select nights, “Fire of the Rising Moons” will provide a unique fireworks experience with musical accompaniment.
Meanwhile, Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite (on April 29, May 1, May 6) includes after-hours access to attractions, themed food and drinks, and entertainment like the Fans of the Force Costume Cavalcade.
2 - Star Wars Character Encounters
Also in California, at Disneyland Resort, guests may encounter Luke Skywalker while exploring Batuu.
Meanwhile, at Disneyland Paris - between 4 May and 11 May - Ahsoka will appear in the park for the first time, along with Star Wars favourites Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) and Grogu. Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers roam Discoveryland.
Also in Paris, younglings (guests under 10) can participate in a walk-up lightsaber training experience in Discoveryland with guidance from the Saja, available from 4 May 4 onwards (until 24 May).
In the Tokyo Disneyland park, BDX droids are appearing and will soon arrive at Walt Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland Paris.
3 - Special Star Wars merch
In the US, the “May the 4th Be With You 2025 Collection” launches at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World - including tees, hats, pins and totes.
In Disney World, guests will need to use a virtual queue to shop the collection at Stage 1 Company Store via the My Disney Experience app. The store is in the park, so guests will need valid park admission and a park reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The exclusive merch will include a new lightsaber collection, called “Reclaimed and Reforged”, starting 4 May at Savi’s Workshop in Galaxy’s Edge - at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World.
A must-not-miss retail experience can be found at the LEGO stores in Disney Springs (WDW) and Downtown Disney District (DLR), where guests will find a complimentary Grogu mini build and pop-up LEGO mural displays from 2 May to 4 May.
4 - Limited-time food and drink
Galactic food items are featured across all Disney destinations.
At Walt Disney World, guests can try the Sliced Eopie Wrap … available at Docking Bay 7, it is made up of a roasted pork loin, ham, spiced broccoli, provolone, and red pepper mulsauce wrapped in pita bread.
Also at the Hollywood Studios park, the Churro Cart will be selling Lightsaber Churros.
Or, how about Anakin’s Starfighter Chocolate Piñata, at Disney Springs ‘The Ganachery, which is a dark chocolate shell and crunchy hazelnut “asteroid” ganache clusters.
In Disneyland Paris, guests can enjoy treats like the Yoda Burger and Darth Vader Biscuit.
Over in California, at the Disneyland Resort, the Season of the Force Foodie Guide includes themed treats such as Wookiee Parfait and Galactic Churros.

5 - Experiences at home
All on your wookie, and not going to the parks this May? … never mind.
You can celebrate May the Fourth at home, so long as you have a Disney+ and a decent internet connection.
Besides the deep catalog of classic movies and the more recent streaming shows, fans of Star Wars can tune in to the second season of Andor.
The Disney+ show, which follows the early days of the rebellion and central character Cassian Andor, saw the first few episodes of series two ‘drop’ in late April, and the next few episodes will be on the streaming platform in time for May the Fourth.
Star Wars fans looking for more direct engagement in the universe can also enjoy some virtual reality experiences, including a Galaxy’s Edge and Rise of the Resistance with a virtual walkthrough.
