American Airlines announces 'Big Game' schedule ahead of Super Bowl LX

American Airlines has announced it will scale up operations into San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) in February, during the “Big Game” travel week.

It's very safe to say that the airline, which presumably isn't an official league sponsor, is referring to Super Bowl LX which takes place at Levi’s Stadium, 8 miles away from the SJC airport.

The airline said it has added more than 10,000 seats between 5 and 10 February, increasing capacity into SJC by more than 450%.

A glance at the scheduled departure airports shows the airline is hedging its bets across America's major NFL cities - Charlotte, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Philadelphia, Dallas and Phoenix routes.

“The season is just getting started, and American is locking in our game plan to get fans to the Big Game,” said Jason Reisinger, American’s managing director for global network planning.
