Carnival Cruise Line has announced new enhancements to the Carnival Rewards program for existing Diamond and Platinum members, before a new program begins next summer.
It is intended to be the first cruise loyalty program of its kind, drawing inspiration from the loyalty programs commonly seen among airlines and hotel brands.
"We’ve spent the summer talking with our guests, listening to their comments and taking in their feedback. As a result, I am happy to share that we are making changes to improve the offering to our most loyal customers as we get ready for the program’s launch in 2026,” said Christine Duffy, Carnival Cruise Line president.
“We believe these enhancements recognize our appreciation for the loyalty of our top-tier guests.”
The update confirmed 'lifetime' Diamond status will be given to existing 'top tier' members, and Carnival also said it will give Platinum guests a 'head start'.
This will apply to all guests who reach Diamond or Platinum before a new program launches in June 2026.
The 'head start' for Platinum-level guests will come in the form of a biennial boost of 10,000 Carnival Rewards 'stars', which Carnival said would bring them 20% towards reaching Diamond status on the new program.
