Carnival says four cruise ships will run out of Galveston in 2027/28

Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed that four of its ships will operate out of Galveston, Texas, for the 2027/28 season.

It announced that Carnival Horizon and Carnival Spirit will treat Galveston as its homeport alongside the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Jubilee vessels.

This will include quick four-day getaways, seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings, and longer Carnival Journeys sailings.

Many of these itineraries will include calls to Carnival's new Celebration Key.

"Galveston is one of our most popular homeports, and this new deployment continues our commitment to our Texas guests and the community by adding more variety than ever," said Carnival president Christine Duffy.

Carnival Horizon

The ship, which has a guest capacity of around 4,000, will start sailing from Galveston in May 2027 ,with an eight-day western Caribbean cruise before settling into four and five-day runs, with more than 70 sailings scheduled through until April 2028.

Carnival Spirit

Spirit, a smaller ship carrying around 2,000 guests, meanwhile, joins the port from October 2027, to operate four, five and six-day western Caribbean itineraries, along with a series of longer 10-day voyages, plus a 16-day Panama Canal Journeys transit from Seattle to Galveston departing in September 2027.

Carnival Breeze

Carnival Breeze shifts to a new seven-day schedule from May 2027, rotating eastern and western Caribbean calls, including stops at Celebration Key, Key West, Nassau, Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Belize and Isla Tropicale.

Special sailings include an 8-day Christmas cruise.

Carnival Jubilee

Carnival's 'flagship' ship, the Jubilee, an Excel-class ship that carries more than 6,400 guests, will run six and eight-day sailings - including calls at Celebration Key and RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.

With four ships sailing regularly from Galveston across the 2027/28 window, Carnival reinforces its position as the largest cruise operator from Texas.
