Celebrity Cruises has announced it is entering a new business, with two new ships, Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker - taking the “Celebrity Way” to the river.
Entering the European river cruising market, Celebrity's two new ships will launch with seven-night itineraries on the Rhine and Danube, in 2027.
Celebrity has now opened the books on its river cruising business, for Priority Booking Access, with guests now able to place a fully refundable $500 deposit to secure a booking.
The cruise line boasts a new innovative approach to river cruising, and its brand new ships include some unique features such as "revolutionary open decks” that remain accessible throughout the journey.
Celebrity says the design offers the most usable outdoor space on a river ship. The deck also includes an infinity-edge plunge pool, as well as a bar and grille.
Guests can also dine in cantilevered 'Magic Edge' pods that float over the river.
The ships will be fitted with eight restaurants and bars, including a Martini Bar, Sunset Bar and Café Al Bacio.
Innovation continues inside, with new Skylight Infinite Balcony Suites featuing a ceiling window for extra natural light.
“Celebrity River Cruises ships will be the most innovative on the river, with a patent-pending industry-leading design that offers more space to vacation while bringing guests even closer to destinations,” said Celebrity Cruises president Laura Hodges Bethge.
Celebrity will launch the river cruise business with 33 seven-night cruise itineraries.
The sailings feature multiple ports per day, and occasional overnights from Budapest’s thermal baths to Wachau Valley sails and private Austrian wine tastings.
Guests can also add pre- and post-cruise stays in some of Europe's most iconic cities, like Prague and Budapest.
