Cunard brings Broadway hit to Queen Elizabeth

Cunard, the luxury British cruise brand, has announced it will stage the first-ever production of Come From Away at sea, aboard the Queen Elizabeth ship.

Come From Away will debut alongside the ship’s maiden Caribbean voyage on 16 October.

The exclusive adaptation of the hit Broadway show (inspired by a true story in the remote town of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada, in the days after 9/11) will be presented in collaboration with Music Theatre International. It will coincide with the musical’s 10th anniversary year.

The show will be performed twice on each sailing, with matinee and evening options, and is crafted specifically for the stage at sea.

It is a one-hour and 40-minute production, and features an ensemble cast of 12 performers.

"Now more than ever, we believe it's important to gather friends and family to see it together, with the hope that it inspires them to find common ground in their lives," Come from Away producer John Brant.

"This partnership with Cunard is a meaningful opportunity to bring our story to new corners of the world, and we can't wait for passengers to experience it for themselves."

The collaboration extends Cunard’s long-standing ties to London’s West End and Broadway, and the cruise brand noted that more entertainment residencies are planned for 2026.

For guests, the at-sea residency promises a sought-after theatre ticket rolled into the experience of a luxury cruise.

"We are incredibly passionate about the power of timeless storytelling, and our long-standing affiliation with London's West End and Broadway in New York ensures that unparalleled entertainment is at the heart of the Cunard experience," Cunard president Katie McAlister said.

"Our 2026 Entertainment Residencies will build on this commitment, offering our guests unforgettable access to the very best live performances at sea."

Cunard described 2025 as a milestone year for its heritage line, which comprises four ships; Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Anne.
