Walt Disney World guests start preparing for a new aesthetic at Magic Kingdom, as a classical color palette is returning to the Cinderella Castle.
It was announced this weekend at the Destination D23 event in Orlando that Disney World will be updating the castle to a classic, 'original-inspired' scheme with greys, creams, blues and touches of gold.
This follows the more colorful recent palette, which, for the park's 50th anniversary back in 2021, introduced rose-pink, royal blue and 'EARidescent' overlays.
With the new repaint, Magic Kingdom's iconic centerpiece is expected to be a refreshed and timeless backdrop.
"Walt Disney Imagineers have studied the various overlays and tonal compositions used over the years and have created a new color palette inspired by the Castle’s original and classic appearance," the announcement said.
"For over 50 years, the colors on the 189-foot landmark have been carefully chosen to reflect Florida’s sunshine ... The finishes have been thoughtfully selected to ensure they remain vibrant and deep over time."
