Guests heading to Disneyland Paris this winter will miss out on one of the French park's favourite rides, as Ratatouille is to undergo a revamp in the coming months.
Disneyland Paris on Tuesday announced it will temporarily close the ride, Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, in Walt Disney Studios Park, this October for an extensive renovation.
It comes as a major redevelopment of the Studios park is well underway - with the a full relaunch and renaming (to Disney Adventure World) next year, alongside the opening of the Frozen expansion area, and followed by 'Adventure Way' and later Lion King Land.
Remy-lovers won't have to wait quite so long, with Disneyland Paris today saying that a Spring reopening of Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy is planned.
There will, however, be changes to the ride experience once it reopens with the Paris park confirming that the family-favourite dark ride (where guests shrink to the size of Remy, everyone's favourite rat chef) will, in future, be permanently operated with 2D projections - so, guests will never need to wear 3D glasses to enjoy the ride again.
Besides the technical reworking, Disney Imagineers will also add new design elements to both the ride and queue experiences.
"Following recent extensive renovations to Le Pays des Contes de Fées, Big Thunder Mountain, and currently Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, the enhancements made to Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy reflect Disneyland Paris’ commitment to offering its guests the very best experience every time they visit," Disney said in an announcement via its Disneyland Paris News website.
Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, at Disneyland Paris, was the original version of the innovative 'trackless' dark-ride, opening in the summer of 2024, before it was replicated as 'Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure' at EPCOT's France pavilion, at Orlando's Disney World, in 2021.
