Quick and easy park transportation is a top attraction for All-Star Movies Resort

4 min read

For guest making a booking at Disney World's All-Star Movies Resort, opting for a value resort rather than a hotel 'offsite', probably the top perk.

Arguably, the easy and complimentary transport to and from the parks is one of the main attractions for guests heading to the All-Star resort.

The value of being dropped-off right at the park entrance, skipping entirely the Transportation and Ticket Center and the ferryboat shouldn't be underestimated.

Over the course of a week stay at Disney World it shaves a lot of time off your theme park 'commute'.

Whether heading to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, the resort provides regular free transport that makes guests' Disney World trip as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Here, we take a closer look at how guests can get around from Disney’s All-Star Movies.

Complimentary buses

The main mode of transport from Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is the complimentary Disney bus service, which runs to all the major theme parks, including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.

These buses are free of charge and depart from the resort every 15 to 20 minutes, so hopefully you won’t be waiting long to start your Disney adventures.

Minnie Van

As many guests staying at All-Star resorts know, the one main complaint you're likely to see about the value resorts is these buses are in high-demand.

Before the 'rope drop' park openings in the morning, and after the fireworks at night, especially, the lines for buses can be long (sometimes very long). All-Stars are high capacity resorts, so peak times can be lively.

Whether you're running late or just don't fancy the wait, guests can opt to pay for a private ride in a Minnie Van - the Lyft/Uber style on-demand, point-to-point rideshare operated by Disney Cast Members in red-and-white polka–dot Chevrolet Traverse SUVs.

Minnie Vans are available to Walt Disney World Resort Guests, each vehicle comfortably seats up to six passengers and comes equipped with two complimentary child safety seats when requested.

Minnie Vans operate daily from 6:30 am to 12:30 am, and are bookable via the Lyft app.

Like regular ride-hailing service, such as Uber and Lyft, the Minnia Van service is priced depending upon the distance of your trip, plus the time of day (it uses dynamic pricing).

It adds a cost to your day, but a Minnie Van trip can be a popular choice (especially at peak times when you'd rather not wait for the bus).

Which is the closest park

Disney’s Animal Kingdom it’s the closest theme park to Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, around 10 minutes bus ride away.

Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are around 20 to 30 minutes on the bus, depending on traffic.

Can You Walk to the Parks?

Walking to the theme parks isn’t a viable option from All-Star Movies.

The resort is several miles away from the parks, and there aren’t safe pedestrian paths. So, it’s recommended to rely on the complimentary bus service to get you where you need to go.

Park hop

All-Star Movies, as a value resort, is not connected to the Disney World monorail, ferryboats or Skyline cablecars - nevertheless, all these are available to every guest on property, and are a fantastic option for hopping from one part of Disney World to another.

Free and frequent

With Disney’s complimentary bus service running frequently, getting to the parks from Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is easy.

Whether you’re travelling with kids or enjoying a couple’s getaway, the free transport ensures you spend more time enjoying the parks and less time worrying about how to get there.
