Editorial Desk

We Are Guests is a small, family-run travel publisher. This is the masthead: the named people behind it, how the publication is produced, and who answers for what we publish.

The Team

We Are Guests is written and run by two people. There is no anonymous editorial board and no third-party Editor in Chief — the publication is exactly what it looks like.

  • Steph Ashcroft
    Co-founder & Editor

Steph is the editorial heart of We Are Guests. She is the detail-obsessed planner who photographs every meal, reads every guest review, and somehow always finds the cheapest flights — and that same eye runs through every review we publish.

As Editor she sets the standard for our first-hand coverage: what "we stayed" actually means, how a hotel or attraction is assessed, and where a verdict has earned the right to be firm. She visits, photographs and reviews the places she covers in person.

Years of planning and reviewing family holidays first-hand — theme parks, resorts, cruises and city breaks across the US, Europe, Ireland and the UK.

  • Jamie Ashcroft
    Founder & Publisher

Jamie is the founder and publisher of We Are Guests. He builds and runs the site, handles the comparisons and travel-news coverage, and is the person editorially accountable for what We Are Guests publishes.

He also designed the We Are Guests Newsroom — the automation-assisted pipeline that drafts travel news under human oversight — and the editorial standards and checks that sit around it.

Founder of Creamery Media Ltd and publisher of its titles. Background in software, business and financial journalism; architect of the editorial automation behind the newsroom.

How We Are Guests Works

Our coverage comes in two kinds, and every article is badged so you know which you are reading. We Stayed reviews are first-hand: we visited, photographed, and formed our own opinion. Researched guides and comparisons are built from careful research rather than a personal visit. Both are held to the same standard of accuracy — the difference is only ever about first-hand experience, and we never blur it.

Our travel-news coverage is produced through the We Are Guests Newsroom — an automation-assisted pipeline that drafts news from identifiable source material under human oversight. Newsroom drafts are verified and approved by a human editor before publication; they carry the We Are Guests Newsroom byline so the process is never hidden. How that works in detail is set out in our Technology & AI Policy and Verification & Fact-Checking pages.

Editorial Accountability

Editorial accountability for We Are Guests sits with the founder and publisher, Jamie Ashcroft. Final responsibility for what the publication publishes — first-hand reviews, researched guides, and Newsroom news alike — rests there.

We Are Guests does not assign an Editor in Chief title to any third party. Editorial leadership is held by the named founders above; we would rather show you a small, real masthead than dress the publication up as something larger than it is.
