How to get to Disney World’s Riviera Resort on your travel day

3 min read

The Riviera Resort, one of the 'deluxe villa' Disney World ‘on-property’ hotels, is well-connected and it is straightforward to get to.

Whether you’re flying in, getting a train, or driving in travelling into the resort won’t be challenging.

Here, we take a closer look at the transport options so you can get there stress-free.

Fly into Orlando (MCO) or Sanford (SFB)

The closest airport to Disney World's Riviera resort is Orlando International Airport (MCO), located approximately 20 miles from the resort.

This means a transfer time of about 25 to 35 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

For those using a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft, a pickup from MCO to Riviera typically costs around $30–$40, although pricing can fluctuate with demand.

A private airport transfer would generally cost between $100 and $200, depending on the size and type of vehicle.

Coach transfers may offer a more affordable option, especially for groups, with each way priced around $16 per person.

If you’re flying into Orlando Sanford International Airport, it’s further away at about 45 miles, with a transfer time of roughly 45 to 55 minutes. An Uber from there may cost between $60 and $85.

Travelling by train

If you’re arriving by train, the nearest station is Amtrak’s Orlando Station, located about 18 miles from the resort.

The transfer time from the station to Disney’s Riviera s roughly 20 to 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

A recent addition to guests’ travel options is Florida's Brightline rail service is a high-speed rail line connecting the Orlando International Airport (MCO) with other major cities in Florida, particularly Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

So this may allow more flexibility if your plans see you flying into another Florida airport, or if you’re planning a split-stay trip.

There are no complimentary shuttle services from the train station to the Disney resorts, but all the usual transfer options are available.

Driving

Driving into Disney World’s Riviera Resort is straightforward.

The hotel is located within the EPCOT Resort Area, it’s easily accessible via Interstate 4.

Guests can park on-site, and it is complimentary for hotel guests during their stay.

Once parked, guests can leave the car in the resort car park and make use of Disney’s internal shuttle system to get around the parks without needing their car.

Thoughts …

Whether you’re flying, taking the train, or driving, Disney’s Riviera Resort is well-connected and easy to reach.

With convenient access to Disney’s parks, getting to your resort should be hassle-free, with only a little planning.
