More than half of Brits would consider taking solo trips, that's according to a new survey conducted by easyJet Holidays.
Gen Z are more spontaneous and are booking on shorter notice, less than 12 weeks in advance, compared Gen X, who typically book five months out, the easyJet report said.
easyJet also said tourists prefer to travel more frequently, with a third of Brits now taking three or more trips each year, but also trips are shorter than in the past - on average lasting 6.7 days.
"We’re seeing generational habits vary more than ever – from early planners to spontaneous adventurers," said Paul Bixby, easyJet Holidays chief commercial officer.
He added: "We’re committed to providing package holiday options that suit the needs of all our customers, and this latest research highlights a fascinating shift in how people are choosing to travel."
Why book later?
The easyJet report claimed that chance of a 'last minute deal' was the top reason for booking later, according to 32% of survey respondents.
That was followed by reasons such as 'spontaneity', 'work schedules', the need for a 'mental health reset', and 'decision fatigue'.
Meanwhile, 4% of the surveyed said 'FOMO' (fear of missing out) was a reason they booked a trip.
