MSC countdown is on for Seascape's move to Texas for West Caribbean sailings

MSC Cruises is counting down to the start of a new chapter for its MSC Seascape ship, which in the coming weeks begins sailing from Galveston, Texas.

The ship's arrival coincides with the opening of the Port of Galveston’s newest cruise terminal, with the Texan port now marked as America's "fourth-busiest" cruise port.

This growing operation is targeting a total of 445 sailings in 2026, handling nearly 4 million guests in the year.

Seascape's first sailing is scheduled to depart Galveston on Sunday, 9 November, starting a program of year-round 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries. It will see the cruise ship call at Costa Maya and Cozumel, in Mexico, as well as Isla de Roatán, in Honduras.

MSC highlights that Seascape is 'one of the newest and most modern' cruise ships in its fleet, adding that it "exemplifies the cruise line’s signature blend of European style and American comfort."

And, now operating out of Galveston, the Seascape has been given some extra Texan charm.

The ship's food and drink offering is getting a regional refresh with barbecue plates, Cajun-spiced dishes and Southern-style comfort food, plus added signature drinks like a Spicy Mexican Margarita and Backyard Punch.

Seascape's speciality dining, meanwhile, spans Kaito Sushi and Teppanyaki, HOLA! Tacos & Cantina, Ocean Cay seafood and Butcher’s Cut steakhouse.

Elsewhere, there are two drink-tasting experiences that pack a whole lot of Americana, with the MSC Bourbon & Bacon Experience and the MSC Macallan Experience.

Seascape's entertainment offering is also tuned to Texas, with a resident country band, a bespoke duelling-pianos show, country line-dance classes and a Big Texas Sailaway Party joining the ship's existing program of shows, entertainment and live music.

In all, MSC Seascape has six pools, including an aft infinity pool, 2,270 cabins with 12 suite/stateroom types, 11 dining venues and 19 bars, a 1,772-foot waterfront promenade and a glass-floored "Bridge of Sighs".

Guests looking for extra 'ship within a ship' luxury, won't be disappointed as Seascape boasts one of MSC's largest 'Yacht Club' complexes - with the high calibre, adults-only enclave host to private dining, lounge, pool and a 24/7 butler service.
