MSC Cruises to expand fleet with two more new 'World Class' ships

MSC Cruises has announced a further expansion of its fleet, with an order for two more 'World Class' cruise ships with a new investment of around €3.5 billion.

The news comes as MSC enjoyed a double celebration, of new ships, alongside the float out of MSC World Asia and the coin ceremony for MSC World Atlantic.

World Asia and World Atlantic are the fifth and sixth new vessels in the World Class series, and they were celebrated at Chantiers de l’Atlantique's Saint-Nazaire yard.

MSC World Asia is set for delivery in November 2026, with seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from December calling at Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Messina and Valletta.

MSC World Atlantic will enter service in 2027, homeporting at Port Canaveral for the winter 2027–28 Caribbean season.

The cruise line's latest ship order, for its seventh and eighth vessels, is expected to see builds begin in 2029 followed by deliveries in 2030 and 2031.
