Oceania Cruises, the luxury brand by NCL, announced it has brought back its original French restaurant, Jacques.
It comes as the cruise line launches its newest ship, Oceania Allura, this week, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the French restaurant's namesake Chef Jacques Pépin.
Jacques Pépin was the first executive culinary director for Oceania, which describes itself as being "culinary-first” cruise brand.

“We first debuted Jacques 14 years ago aboard Oceania Marina, and the following year on Oceania Riviera, and I am delighted to see this wonderful iteration of our much-loved culinary venue aboard our newest ship, Oceania Allura, and her sister ship, Oceania Vista,” said Chef Pépin said at the ribbon-cutting event in Boston.
Speaking about Pépin, chef Eric Barale, Oceania’s current executive culinary director and a Maître Cuisinier de France, meanwhile, added: "He not only embodies our philosophy of serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea, he is the patriarch of the doctrine guiding hundreds of chefs across the Oceania Cruises fleet.”
At the Jacques restaurant guests are promised a refreshed menu that aims to balance signatures dishes with new additions like devilled egg topped with smoked trout rillette and sturgeon caviar.
The Jacques restaurant is positioned as 'a hallmark experience' within its small-ship, destination-focused approach.
