Disney World's Pop Century Resort is packed with nostalgia, featuring all your favourite decades of 'the late 1900s' - but the accommodation is far from old-fashioned.

Pop Century’s rooms are both comfortable and practical, making them well-equipped for families, couples, and groups alike.

Whether you’re visiting with little ones or looking for a comfortable retreat, there’s a room that will suit your needs while keeping you close to the magic of Disney.

Standard vs Preferred Rooms at Pop Century Resort

Pop Century features more than 2,800 rooms, all of which were fully refurbished by 2018.

The decor is inspired by the latter half of the 20th century, with each building themed to a different decade from the 1950s through the 1990s.

Despite being a Value Resort, the interiors feel surprisingly modern and efficient.

Guests can choose between two main categories: Standard Rooms and Preferred Rooms.

The difference lies not in size or layout, but in location, Preferred Rooms are closer to Classic Hall, the main lobby, dining, and the Disney Skyliner station.

Room Layouts and Bed Configurations

Inside the rooms, smart space-saving features are front and center.

Most rooms are configured with two queen beds, one of which is a pull-down Murphy bed that transforms into a table during the day.

This clever design offers flexibility for families or couples who want to use the space for meals or work.

Select rooms are outfitted with a single king bed instead, often reserved for accessible needs or solo guests.

In-Room Features and Amenities

Every room includes a flat-screen TV, a mini beverage cooler (note: not a full fridge), and a single-serve coffee maker stocked with Joffrey’s coffee and Twinings tea.

There’s ample storage, including dresser drawers, open shelves, and under-bed space for luggage. A digital safe is also provided.

Notably, power outlets and USB ports are plentiful, ideal for charging multiple devices.

Each room is also equipped with “Hey Disney!”, an Amazon Alexa-style voice assistant that offers park info, jokes, and interactive fun.

Pop Century Bathrooms: What to Expect

The bathrooms are separated by a sliding barn door and offer a clean, functional layout.

Guests will find a single sink with an extended vanity, plus a separate toilet and shower area.

The shower is especially noteworthy for a Value Resort, featuring both a rainfall showerhead and a handheld wand.

Complimentary Disney-branded toiletries, a hairdryer, an iron, and an ironing board are all provided.

Room Pricing and Location Tips

Room rates fluctuate depending on view type, travel dates, and proximity to resort amenities.

Standard rooms typically range from $140 to $317 per night, while Preferred Rooms are priced slightly higher, from $171 to $336.

Guests who want a quieter experience often gravitate toward the 1980s and 1990s buildings, which are farther from the main pool and lobby.

Those looking for the shortest walk to the Skyliner or dining should consider Preferred Rooms in the 1960s section.

Family-Friendly Room Amenities

Families will appreciate the extras available upon request, like Pack 'n Plays for infants.

Though there are no cooking facilities, the mini cooler is useful for snacks and drinks.

Self-service laundry is available, and housekeeping can be arranged free of charge.

Guests can also mobile order food, including pizza delivery to their room from the food court between 4 PM and midnight.

Check-In and Check-Out Times

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early or late check-in/out can sometimes be arranged, though fees may apply.

Is Pop Century Right for Your Stay?

Ultimately, Pop Century is one of Disney’s best examples of blending fun, function, and affordability.

The retro theming, modern updates, and easy access to the Skyliner make it a great pick, especially for those spending most of their time at Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

It’s a resort that surprises in the best ways, offering more than you’d expect from a Value category stay.

If you're after peace and quiet, request a room in the outer sections like the '80s or '90s buildings. But if you’re after location and convenience, the 1960s Preferred Rooms are your best bet.

And, of course, there are other Disney World resorts to explore too!
