Walt Disney World has completed a refurbishment project involving more than 1,000 rooms at the Port Orleans - French Quarter resort.

The updated rooms now feature colourful fabrics, patterns and artwork inspired by the architecture and culture of New Orleans.

They also have new portraits depicting characters from “The Princess and the Frog” in Mardi Gras-themed attire.

French Quarter’s new room upgrades also include enhanced storage and bathroom facilities.

Around the resort, meanwhile, Disney has updated the Doubloon Lagoon pool area and Mardi Grogs pool bar, which were redesigned with lighter colours, wrought iron accents and other accents to reflect the style of the French Quarter.

“This resort is all about transporting guests to the heart of New Orleans, and the recent enhancements bring that story to life in exciting new ways,” Port Orleans Resort general manager Diane Petit said in a blog post for the resort’s Disney Parks blog..

“Everything ties back to the charm and culture that our guests love.”
