RIU Hotels & Resorts has now opened its first hotel in Canada, with the Riu Plaza Toronto.
The hotel, part of RIU's urban “Plaza” subbrand, is located in Toronto's entertainment district, with the newly built 4-star opening its doors to customers for the first time earlier this week (on Monday, 22 September).
RUI Plaza Toronto spans 23 floors, with a twin-tower design, offering 352 guest rooms (though the entire skyscraper has 49 floors, and the others provide new urban housing).
The new hotel boasts a bright lobby, with an all-day lobby bar, plus a second-floor restaurant serving a signature full buffet breakfast (included in the room rate), as well as a 24-hour gym, and a conference room for up to 40 people.
Located at 30 Widmer Street, minutes from major entertainment venues - like Princess of Wales Theatre, David Pecaut Square, Rogers Centre and the CN Tower - as well as transit to the rest of the city, it is pitched for both business and pleasure.
"This opening represents a significant achievement for RIU as Canada is one of the most significant markets for the hotel chain," the hotel brand said.
This new Toronto property is RIU's twelfth hotel in the RIU Plaza urban subbrand with the others including New York, London, Dublin, Madrid and Miami as well as destinations further afield like Panama and Guadalajara.
