Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas debuts

Royal Caribbean has officially introduced Star of the Seas, hosting an iconic naming ceremony at Port Canaveral, Florida.

The event marked the start of the line’s latest Icon Class ship, designed as a “family vacation of a lifetime,” with crew, executives, and loyal guests gathering in the ship’s AquaTheater to begin the new next chapter for the brand.

Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean Group CEO, said the ship “brings together the best of our innovation, signature experiences, and the most sought-after destinations into one unforgettable vacation”.

Star of the Seas comprises eight neighborhoods, packing in a mix of high‑impact thrills and serene spaces.

It has a waterpark and Crown’s Edge (a thrilling aerial attaction that includes a sky-walk and ropes course - some 154 feet above the ocean) for adrenaline. Plus, there are seven pools, including a suspended infinity pool for downtime.

Surfside, a stay‑and‑play‑all‑day neighborhood, is made for families with young kids.

For dining and nightlife, guests can avail of more than 40 options. Meanwhile, the entertainment offering spans air, ice, water, and the theater (with a highlight being Back to the Future: The Musical).

In its debut season, Star of the Seas sails 7‑night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries that include Royal Caribbean’s top‑rated private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.

The addition of Star of the Seas comes as Royal Caribbean is expanding its offering both on the seas and ashore with new private destinations like Royal Beach Club Paradise Island (opening at the end of 2025), Royal Beach Club Cozumel (2026) and Perfect Day Mexico (2027).
