Disney Parks has announced a big change to one of EPCOT's classic rides, with a new version coming next year.
The Soarin' attraction, a simulated gliding flight experience, will reboot with a brand-new film next year, with "Soarin’ Across America" to debut in summer 2026.
This new all American experience, which replaces the current "Soarin' Around the World", is part of a number of celebrations being planned to coincide with America’s 250th anniversary year.
Soarin Across America is coming to both Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in California, and, aims to capture “the United States—from sea to shining sea—highlighting some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes.”
The refreshed experience promises a coast-to-coast flight celebrating American scenery and city skylines.
Disney Parks revealed that its Imagineering team is currently filming “more than a dozen” locations to build the new all American journey.
“You’ll soon be Soarin’ Across America at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, debuting Summer 2026!” Disney said, via the Disney Parks Blog.
Disney, on Monday, revealed that Disney World is set to play a major role in its plans for America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, with a new initiative called “Disney Celebrating America.”
The festivities will begin on 11 November 2025, Veterans Day, and run through 4 July 2026, uniting Disney’s parks, media, and brands to honor the country’s history, people, and optimism.
It is planning special entertainment and programming will roll out across Disney’s platforms and parks, along with a 24-hour multi-platform broadcast, “Disney Celebrates America,” during the 4 July weekend, featuring live performances, and stories.
Guests at Magic Kingdom can also look forward to an extended run of “Disney’s Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky,” performed nightly from all weekend.
Disney is also making a $2.5 million donation to Blue Star Families will fund programs supporting veterans and military households. And, it is planning special events, screenings, and new military-inspired merchandise will be offered across Disney parks, plus exclusive 2026 resort and cruise offers for service members and families.
