TUI teams up for Socca tournaments in Crete and Cancun

TUI Group has partnered with the International Socca Federation (ISF) to stage a new series of international small-sided football tournaments in leading holiday destinations.

Games will kick off this month in Greece, before continuing in Mexico in November.

In Rethymno, Crete, on 17 October, the TUI Socca Champions League will get underway. Then, in Cancun, it is following up with the TUI Socca World Cup in Cancún from 28 November.

More events are planned for 2026, for Portugal and Turkey, TUI highlighted, adding that all tournaments are free to attend for visitors and local fans.

“Football means passion – only travelling is better,” said TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel.

He added: "hundreds of teams are now playing in front of hundreds of thousands of fans in the most beautiful destinations in the world."

In Crete, the Socca Champions League runs over five days on four pitches and brings together 106 teams from more than 40 countries.

Meanwhile, the Socca World Cup in Cancún will see 48 nations compete in 6-a-side competition inside a reusable TUI pop-up stadium for more than 3,000 spectators, and broadcast internationally and on the Socca app.

TUI said it will provide transfers to take guests to the venues.
