United Airlines and Instacart offer 'free delivery' to MileagePlus loyalty members

United Airlines passengers can make coming home from vacation a little easier, thanks to a new brand partnership with Instacart.

The airline has teamed up with the shop-and-home-delivery app to give its Loyalty members a bonus 'free' delivery on the days after their flight.

MileagePlus members can activate $0 delivery fees on Instacart orders placed right before, during or shortly after a domestic US flight, United said, highlighting that it will make it easier to restock a holiday rental or help passengers arrive home to a full fridge.

Once activated, United's loyalty members receive seven days of $0 delivery fees, though other service fees and minimum order volumes apply.

At the same time, new members can earn 5,000 extra miles when they complete four $35+ orders on Instacart within eight weeks - and, after that, another 5,000 miles can be earned by signing up for an annual Instacart account and keeping it open for more than 30 days.

Also, existing member can gain 500 miles, if they link MileagePlus and Instacart and place an order within 60 days.

“With Instacart, travelers can spend less time running errands and more time enjoying the journey and the destination – and now, United MileagePlus members can enjoy added benefits when they link their account to Instacart,” said InstaCart vive president Ryan Hamburger.

Meanwhile, United's MileagePlus CEO Richard Nunn added: "We’re always looking for new ways to make our loyalty program even more valuable.

"This Instacart collaboration gives members the peace of mind to know they can add groceries and other essentials at just about any stage of their trip."
