Douze points go to Jet2 as the airline has announced it is adding extra flights to Bourgas, Bulgaria, which will be the host city for the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2027.

Following the Bulgarian victory this year, thanks to Dara (Darina Yotova) and club-anthem “Bangaranga”, it is Bulgaria's turn to host the annual pop music extravaganza.

Jet2 is now adding additional departures from Birmingham, East Midlands, Glasgow and Manchester, in time for the Semi-Finals on Tuesday 11 May and Thursday 13 May, as well as the Grand Final on Saturday 15 May 2027.

Seats for the extra flights are on sale now, Jet2 added.

It means that customers can now travel to Bourgas from 11 UK airports, with multiple weekly departures on many routes allowing fans to tailor trips around the Semi-Finals, the Grand Final or the full week of events.

The extra services are from Birmingham and Manchester, with the East Midlands and Glasgow departures exclusive to Jet2, it said.

Jet2 also flies to Bourgas from Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool and London Stansted-each route exclusive to Jet2-alongside services from Bristol, Newcastle and London Gatwick.

Eurovision Song Contest event will take place at the Arena Burgas, and the city will also host a full programme of public events, including a Eurovision Village and EuroClub, which are planned to run across the whole of 'Eurovision week'.

"With flights from 11 UK airports, six exclusive routes and a choice of departure dates across Eurovision week, customers and independent travel agents have more choice and flexibility than ever," David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Jet2, said.

Bourgas is a Black Sea coastal city known for its beaches, seafront parks and a local cultural scene of restaurants, cafés and bars.
