Disneyland Hotel Paris is the French theme park's only five-star property, at the entrance to the Disneyland Park, with a simple and compelling appeal, its unmatched proximity to the magic and a whole lot of royal theming.
One thing it is certainly is not is cheap. The Disneyland Hotel Paris is one of the most expensive places to stay across all of Disney's worldwide parks. The extra spend (or, if you prefer, 'investment' in your trip) comes with perks and experiences that are unique to this hotel alone.
Being on the doorstep of the park really matters for many guests because it turns some of the usually tiresome theme park logistics into tiny, stress-free moves. Suddenly, midday breaks at the hotel, downtime for the kids, or an outfit change are a lot more convenient when your room is basically at the park gates.
Of course, for early-rising guests, it also means a head start and an especially easy way to make the most of the extra hour of park time (which all Disneyland Paris resort guests benefit from).
Besides the convenience, the Disneyland Hotel Paris resort delivers exclusive character encounters and club-level perks that add even more luxury and privilege to your stay, and that's before anyone mentions the opportunity to watch the fireworks show in your pyjamas from the comfort of your hotel room.
So, yeah, Disneyland Hotel Paris has plenty going for it (for guests who are ready to splurge!)
Location and arrival
Disneyland Hotel Paris is literally at the gates to the Disneyland Park; it could not be closer to the action. That means it is more than straightforward to get to. And, the entrance to the Disney Adventure World park (formerly known as the Disneyland Studios Paris park) is also only a couple more minutes' walk from the hotel.
For any first-time guests, or guests who skipped geography classes, Disneyland Paris is located in Chessy, Marne-la-Vallée, a rural area on the edge of Paris. It is around 20 miles due east of the City, and is about a 45-minute (assuming normal traffic) drive from the City's major airports, Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY).
Guests coming from the City, or from elsewhere in Europe (including the UK via Eurostar), then a rail trip is perhaps the most popular mode of transport - with the Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station two minutes away from Disneyland Hotel Paris, at the entrance to the Disneyland Paris Village restaurant and retail district.
Character, facilities and unique experiences
The overwhelming appeal of Disneyland Hotel Paris, and the reasons people pay the premium price tag, is the immersive (princess-packed) storytelling that's laced through the building, in everything from the castle-like architecture, decor and roaming characters.
Think marble staircases, a castle-themed chandelier and regular lobby performances or "royal encounters". The vibe very much continues from the parks, to the lobby, to the facilities and even to your room. It is designed to be one the most immersive experiences anywhere on Disney property.
For guests with children, if they can find space in their park-going itinerary, there's highly regarded kids' programming, with the Royal Kids Club for children aged 4 to 11 years old, offering two free hours of supervised activity each day.
Guests of all ages, meanwhile, love the guaranteed character meet-and-greets which are bookable by the Disneyland Paris app, as they offer those with the privilege of staying at the hotel to also skip some of the worst of queues in Paris - which always seem to be the queues to see characters. It is simple; book your slot on the app, turn up on time, meet your favourite Disney Princesses. The one advisory note is to make sure you plan ahead and book your time on the app before your trip.
There's also the opportunity for guests themselves to relax and be pampered like a Princess with the hotel's glass-roofed Crystal Pool and a Clarins spa.
And, if the tens of thousands of steps you rack up around the parks every day aren't enough exercise for you (and, for some guests, it is not), then the Disneyland Hotel Paris has a five-star fitness suite.
Some activities and experiences are included in your booking price, and others carry extra charges and may need booking in advance, so it is wise to double-check beforehand to avoid being disappointed on the day.
Rooms, dining and quick picks
Disneyland Hotel Paris offers rooms in tiers with a clear trade-off, from location-focused Superior rooms to premium Castle Club rooms and suites.
There's nothing 'standard' about the hotel's base-level Superior Rooms that breathe the landmark park gate location, as they come with many of the decorative touches without club access. The rooms are of a high standard, are comfortable and well appointed, and, whilst of course benefiting from close park proximity.
The hotel's Castle Club rooms and suites, meanwhile, are the premium option with extras such as a private lounge, character breakfasts, afternoon tea, and, for some accommodations, a private lift that gives direct access to the park.
Character and signature dining is a big draw at Disneyland Hotel Paris, with the Royal Banquet buffet as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck (adorned in regal attire) join guests as they enjoy their meals, and the more formal La Table de Lumière, which features appearances from Disney Princesses and Princes.
These are very much in the bracket of 'event' dining experiences, and Disney prices them accordingly . . . so, perhaps it's worth noting "the world's largest McDonald's" is a five-minute walk away, in Disney Village, if guests need to balance their dining allowances over their stay.
Is Disneyland Hotel Paris for you, or should you look elsewhere?
For most guests, and especially for families, Disneyland Hotel Paris would be an 'enjoy once' and/or special occasion splurge. It is for guests who want to indulge in the extras and prioritise time in full Disney immersion.
It's ideal for parents who need short walking transfers to manage nap schedules, for families chasing princess interactions without long park queues, and for big milestone celebration stays; think birthdays, graduations, engagements, anniversaries or some other "make-it-extra-special" gatherings.
But, Disneyland Hotel Paris really is not for everyone.
As we've already pointed out, it is not at all cheap. In 2026, the average price of a standard room was over €1,000 for one night (that's about £850 or $1,100) and through the peak summer months and during European and UK school holiday periods the prices can often be a lot more than that.
Now, even if the decision is not about money, some of the other higher-quality almost-as-luxurious Disneyland Paris resort hotels like Hotel New York - Art of Marvel or the Newport Bay Resort may be better suited to your tastes and preferences. Both of these resorts would be akin to the 'Deluxe' level Disney World Resorts in Orlando, and each has distinctly different identities and atmospheres.
By contrast, budget-minded families or groups who plan to spend most of their time off-site will definitely find better value at the nearby four-star or budget hotels.
Like Hotel New York and Newport Bay, the Sequoia Lodge Resort is still a fairly short and very pleasant walk from the Disney Village and the Disneyland Paris parks. All three are positioned overlooking Lac Disney (Lake Disney), and give many guests a refreshing sense of separation from the bustle of the parks.
Meanwhile, wild-west Toy Story themed Hotel Cheyenne and Cars themed Sante Fe are very walkable as well, just a few more minutes' stroll from the lake. These resorts are still incredibly convenient for young and mobile families, and offer significant cost savings compared to Disneyland Hotel Paris.
TLDR: if location, premium service, unique experience and atmosphere are what you want from a Disney theme park stay, then Disneyland Hotel Paris really delivers; you'll likely love it. But, if you're on any kind of budget, look at some of the other Disney hotels, or offsite, a bit further afield.
The verdict
Make no mistake, Disneyland Hotel Paris is definitely not a budget pick. It is a deliberate choice. And, for most a once-in-a-lifetime type of splurge.
It has a lot to offer in terms of quality, convenience and unique experiences. It allows guests to move from room to park more seamlessly than almost any other Disney theme park hotel. And the character access can literally cut hours of queue time from the trip.
Disneyland Hotel Paris is a truly elevated Disney resort experience.
It also comes with an elevated price tag, and, realistically, for most guests there's probably another more affordable but also excellent stay elsewhere in the Disneyland Paris neighbourhood.
