We Are Guests

Animal Kingdom Lodge might not be the closest Disney World Resort hotel to the action, compared to some of the others, but it still won’t be long until you’re in the theme parks.

This ‘deluxe’ level resort makes it pretty easy to get to all the Disney parks, even though it doesn’t have some of the premium modes of travel - like the monorail or Skyliner.

Here’s everything you need to know about transportation from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to the parks.

Animal Kingdom is the nearest park

The closest park to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is, unsurprisingly, Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

It is in theory close enough to walk, but there’s no footpath or walkway. There’s only road access, and walking isn’t permitted by Disney.

Instead, a quick bus ride makes the journey very easy.

Buses to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios

Animal Kingdom Lodge, like all the other Disney World resorts, provides complimentary bus services to all of Walt Disney World’s theme parks.

Buses depart every 15 to 20 minutes and will take you directly to the park entrances.

The Animal Kingdom area is a bit further away compared to the other hotels, so it takes around 20 to 25 minutes to get to Magic Kingdom.

Journey times to Epcot and Hollywood Studios are similar. .ad-banner { width: 100%; text-align: center; }

Thoughts …

There are many very good reasons that guests choose to book Animal Kingdom Lodge, but park proximity and transport options aren’t among them.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a very popular ‘bucket list’ hotel for many guests but among all the expensive Deluxe level resorts it's the least well connected to the parks.

But, like we say, the unique guest experience and especially the animal savannah are the priorities for those staying here.
