Ryanair has launched a new membership scheme promising regular flyers the chance to save money.

The membership, to be called Ryanair Prime, will cost £79 annually and will give members access to 12 exclusive seat sales per year.

“Ryanair Prime is a new subscriber discount scheme for frequent flyers that want to fly regularly but don’t want to break the bank to do so,” Ryanair chief marketing officer Dara Brady said.

Prime members will also have the benefit of free reserved seats and free insurance for every flight they take.

According to the budget airline members that fly twelve times a year will save up to £420.

Ryanair said it will initially only sell 250,000 Prime memberships, and travellers can sign up at the airline's website.
