US airline JetBlue has launched a new premium tier, BlueFirst, which will see specially designed seats, upgraded inflight tech and a set of airport priority perks aimed at guests looking to upgrade their travel day.

BlueFirst seats will feature Tuft & Needle’s T&N Flex foam, and each will have an extra 7 inches of legroom, plus a 13.3-inch seatback screen with Bluetooth pairing, seatback food and drink ordering. Power comes from USB-A, USB-C and 110VAC outlets while complimentary Fly‑Fi high-speed internet is provided from 'gate to gate'.

“Customers told us loud and clear that comfort matters most, so that’s where we started,” said Joanna Geraghty, chief executive officer of JetBlue.

On overnight flights, customers receive a blanket and snooze kit, and dining is handled through FirstFare boxes on flights 899 miles or longer, with each comprising an entrée, side and dessert; as well as premium snacks (including brands like Sockerbit, Tosi and Cape Cod Chips).

BlueFirst customers get Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead storage space, priority check-in, expedited security lanes at more than 30 airports, and BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex fares include no change or cancel fees, two free checked bags and priority baggage delivery.

The airline said it will roll out across domestic markets where JetBlue flies and is not currently served with Mint, JetBlue's business class.

Initial routes and booking availability will be announced later this year.
