Carnival Cruise Line is now taking bookings for new cruise ship Carnival Tropicale, which will be its fifth and final ship in the "Excel" class.
Set to debut from Galveston, Texas, in April 2028, Carnival Tropicale's opening season will feature itineraries calling at Carnival's Paradise Collection destinations, including Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Isla Tropicale and Puerta Maya, alongside Progreso and Nassau.

Tropicale brings aboard Sunsation Point, which is described as a multi-deck family zone built around Carnival WaterWorks Ultra, which the line claims will be its most family-friendly water park at sea. Sunsation Point features six slides including SunSoaker, Turning Tides and Racing Currents, plus splash areas for younger children.
The new cruise ship also promises fun and exciting additions such as a Route 66-themed Fairway 66 Mini Golf course, the Treehouse Adventure Trail netted obstacle course, and The Vault Retrocade arcade.

Currently, Carnival Tropicale is under construction at MEYER WERFT's shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
In the Carnival update, André Walter, MEYER WERFT's CEO since July 2026, said Carnival Tropicale is "the fifth Excel-class ship for Carnival Cruise Line, a successful and highly popular series."
