MSC has previewed the opening of Catalina Sugar Beach, its new island destination in the Dominican Republic.
The new destination, located on Catalina Island off the coast of La Romana, will open in November, with the beach will be accessible to cruise passengers as well as guests staying at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
MSC Cruises will begin weekly sailings from a new La Romana homeport in November, with MSC Opera calling at Catalina Sugar Beach on every itinerary.

Explora Journeys will call at Catalina Sugar Beach on select Caribbean itineraries.
Shore excursions will include catamaran trips, snorkelling, boat trips to Isla Saona and visits to the Cave of Wonders and Altos de Chavón.
Catalina Sugar Beach will be operated in partnership with CTL Maritime and Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
